Grace Kluchka Attends Engineering Scholars Program at Michigan Tech

2013 Jul 22

Grace Kluchka of Winthrop Harbor took part in the annual Engineering Scholars Program (ESP) on the campus of Michigan Technological University. The program drew nearly 150 students from across the nation.

ESP gives high-school students a week-long look at different areas of engineering, including mechanical, computer, environmental, electrical, chemical, biomedical, civil, geological, and materials.

Participants have all taken part in a highly competitive scholarship process to be accepted. The program gives students with an aptitude in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics a chance to investigate future career options.

Students also get a taste of college life by spending the week living in Michigan Tech’s residence halls, eating in the dining halls, exploring campus, and meeting diverse peers.

Michigan Technological University is a leading public research university developing new technologies and preparing students to create the future for a prosperous and sustainable world. Michigan Tech offers more than 130 undergraduate and graduate degree programs in engineering; forest resources; computing; technology; business; economics; natural, physical and environmental sciences; arts; humanities; and social sciences.
